In a season of bad news for travelers, here’s some cheer. Thailand has just extended its popular visa-on-arrival scheme by another 7 months. Indian tourists can visit Thailand till 31 October 2019, and get a visa at the airport for free. The country had rolled out this promotion from 15 November 2018 to 13 January 2019. It extended the scheme till 30 April, and has now extended it further till the end of October. Your savings on the visa fees are a cool 2,000 Baht (Rs4,400).
The visa-on-arrival service is available at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang International Airport, Phuket International Airport, and Chiang Mai International Airport. Travellers using this service do not have to wait in long queues at Thailand airports for Visa On Arrival, or fill up application forms or arrange for currency at the airport to pay for the visa fees.
Instead, before departure, all you need to do is complete a simple online eVOA application form, upload documents and make the fee payment online. Your eVoA should come to you within 72 hours over email. To apply, head to this page.
